Emmanuelle Alt: A Toutes Jambes
I love the kick of this editorial "A Toutes Jambes" (or in English, "As Fast as One’s Legs Can Go") styled by Emmanuelle Alt for the June/July 2009 issue of Vogue Paris. This fun and flirty frolic unfolds in front of various Parisian landmarks and plays with the classic French fashion anthem — shock the matrons. The key is to discomfit in the details and here Emmanuelle chooses to do it by calling attention to the legs with vivid tights. In her own words: "Il est temps de remettre les bas. Et les collants... Élans de fantaisie sexy et humour de résille, ils donnent le rythme, l'énergie, le pimpant, la féminité. Et ça, c'est Paris !" which translates as, "It is time to get back to the bottom. And the tights... Bursts of fancy, sexy and funny in mesh, they give the rhythm, the energy, the dapper, the femininity. And this is Paris!" Terry Richardson shot "A Toutes Jambes" which features models Natasha Poly and Anja Rubik.
