Emmanuelle Alt: Tuneoff, Take Two

Emmanuelle Alt vs. Carine Roitfeld: Let's Get Physical via JibJab

I must admit that I was a bit surprised when Emmanuelle Alt accepted my challenge to a tuneoff, and she certainly put up quite a fight with her Wham! video, but I think I have the deal breaker right here, folks… Carine Roitfeld has agreed to serve as my proxy for the next round, taking on Emmanuelle Alt in "Let's Get Physical" by Olivia Newton-John. It seems that the more seriously Emmanuelle takes the dance contest, the more Carine smiles…

Vogue Paris: Immaculée Séduction

Even though it is not the work of Emmanuelle Alt, I found a mesmerizing editorial in the April issue of Vogue Paris: "Immaculée Séduction" with Anja Rubik as shot by Hans Feurer and styled by Marie Chaix. In the words of Vogue Paris: "Glamour, sexy, ethnique, exotique, classique, capteur de lumière, et d'attention, le blanc éclairé parie sur toutes les nuances de style." In English: "Glamorous, sexy, ethnic, exotic, classic, sensor of light and attention, white is an enlightened bet for all the nuances of style." I find the color, the form, and the originality of these images irresistible. Et toi ? Qu'est-ce que tu penses ?

Alt And Roitfeld Estranged

The New York Times recently published a story, "New Star in the Front Row," a tragic tale of the break up of the new editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, Emmanuelle Alt, and her predecessor, Carine Roitfeld. I guess whatever went down at Condé Nast was too great a burden for the relationship to bear though Emmanuelle still spoke well of her former boss in the interview. Also mentioned in the story — I Want To Be A Roitfeld as well as this site though not by name. Kind thanks to Cathy Horyn for making the first media mention of I Want To Be An Alt truly special.

Pierre-Alban HF from The Crowd graciously shared with us these photos of Emmanuelle and Carine together at Paris Fashion Week last autumn. Follow Pierre at The Crowd during the upcoming season in Paris for more fabulous Fashion Week photos. Merci beaucoup, Pierre !

Emmanuelle Alt At Roitfeld's Last Vogue Paris Party

I noticed that photographs of Emmanuelle Alt attending Carine Roitfeld's final Vogue Paris party were slow to surface but any rumors of a rift between the two are silly. Of course Emmanuelle was on hand for Carine's farewell bash, the duo have worked together for decades... I love how the various black textures work together in her outfit here. She excels at dressing for emphasis, her legs appear so tiny beneath that enormous fur. What do you think of Emmanuelle's look for the party?
